Discover Buddhism in Australia
Australia truly is one of a kind – full of spectacular natural scenery, multicultural cities and home to one of the oldest living cultures in the world. It is also home to a thriving and diverse community of Buddhists who have come to call Australia home. The variety of Buddhist traditions is what makes Australia such an interesting destination in which to explore the teachings of the Buddha.
Our pilgrimages range from exploring Vietnamese Buddhist temples in Victoria, visiting small dharma centres in regional areas as well as the chance to visit the Great Stupa of Universal Compassion, one of the most significant Buddhist sites in Australia. We also offer retreats at the Chenrezig Institute, one of the oldest Buddhist retreats and study centres in Australia. Chenrezig is home to a Tibetan teacher, a large number of nuns and monks, and a thriving community of students, volunteers and guests. During the integrated program you will be able to take part in the various Sangha practices as well as explore the beautiful Sunshine Coast, a perfect setting for reflection and contemplation.
Buddhism in Australia is culturally diverse, and our pilgrimages reflect this diversity whilst offering you the chance to meditate on the Buddha’s teachings in a serene and beautiful natural setting.
